Feb… quality month! Already talked about loads of these tunes so won’t repeat myself.
Dutch-chuggers Lewsberg sauntered in to my consciousness by way of the inescapable loveliness of Terrible, whilst Cherry Glazerr got raunchy on the fuming Daddi and Squid, one of the best new bands of recent times, unleashed the Devo-sounding, XTC-referencing Houseplants.
Carly Rae is back with two new, opinion-dividing bangers – the more nuanced of the pair coming in the shape of the wobbling No Drug Like Me. Sounds like prime Robyn, imo.
Elsewhere, Lower Slaughter showcased their peerless ability to match snarling hooks with sick, sick riffs. The Measure Of A Man sounds like it was lifted directly of the Burnout: Paradise soundtrack, which is of course the greatest compliment I can pay a song.
